I would like to see ALL the Pitchers I know be safe and healthy! For $60 this could give a lot of players, parents, coaches and fans peace of mind!!

Here's the story on ESPN:

Another MLB pitcher got hit with a line drive yesterday...

Wearing that $60 Kevlar insert thing has got to be better protection than just ballcap-felt on skull, right...?

FYI: This is not the ugly bulky thing that debuted a season or two ago, you really can't even tell someone is wearing it... so it looks cool.

Wasn't there a MLB pitcher using this last week or in spring training?  I want to say they made him stop using is until further study was done.  Anybody heard anything else on this?  Unless there is evidence to show it doesn't work I say let them use it because anything is better than nothing which is the way it is now.

Saw an article on this yesterday and was intrigued enough to forward it to my son. Am hopeful that colleges like his are taking a hard look at it, as well.

The ESPN story suggests that 20 MLB pitchers are using it this season. Knowing how begrudgingly players can be about adopting innovations unless they're quite obviously advantageous, that seems pretty significant to me.
