With The Cubs playing the best ball in Chicago, it's too bad we couldn't switch teams because with the so(s)x struggling, The Cubs would definitley have the better chance of getting to The WS. At least there are good signs for next year.

Just for fun, let's compare The Cubs and the sox.

Starting pitching: Edge, Cubs. Zambrano is clearly the best pitcher in Chicago, maybe baseball. With Hill, Marmol, and now O'Malley emerging the Cubs have the better staff than the sox who have only Garland to count on and he is just better than average.

Bullpen: Big Edge, Cubs. No comment needed.

Catching: Edge, Cubs. Barrett the better hitter, fighter and handler of pitchers than the punk, who doesn't look like a genius anymore now that his pitchers have fallen back to earth.

Hitting: Even. When the sox are hitting off mediocre pitching, the long ball carries them. Tough pitchers usually shut them down. Cubs are better at Ozzieball than Ozzie's guys.

Defense: Cubs get edge everywhere but 3b. Itzuris and Cedeno could be the best MIF in baseball.

Managers: Even. Everyone knows I liked Ozzie better than Baker, but now that Ozzie has been neutered for shooting off his mouth, he isn't the same.

Not too much to argue about sox fans, is there?

WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING....

Bullpen Big Edge???...Boy has Dempster been wonderful the 2nd half.. Is Jenks leading the league in saves yet??

Can Pierre throw the ball all the way to the infield from CF. Murton and Jones are wonderful to watch...NOT. Sox OF is not great, but Anderson fielding percentage is 1.000

Tough pitchers shutting the Sox down eh.. Didn't they beat Verlander, Rogers, Mussina and Mariano Rivera within the past week.

Props to Zambrano, wish he was on So. Side...other than Vasquez I'll take the Sox staff; they have proven they can WIN.

Heard a good joke while at SIU from a Cards fan. How many World Championships have been won at St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs newest ballparks....NONE
I've said it before and I'll say it again...you gotta love FastballDad!

Thank goodness I wasn't drinking coffee as I read this...

I would have done a spit take all over my 'puter.

Thanks,

I hope this is a joke

i wouldnt want dusty baker to manage the 11 and 12 year old river grove all star team.

THe cubs bullpen is done....they pressed to much early to bail the starters out

AND THE CUBS ALWAYS PLAY BETTER WHEN THE GAMES DONT MEAN A THING

Ramirez decided to get hot about 2 months to late, dusty decided to stick up for his guys and show fire about 3 years to late.....
I'm not dissin the sox! In spite of tonight's gem of a game, they are still a playoff team. I just think they are a little more ordinary then some others do.

AJ (aka The Punk) wasn't exactly the most desireable catcher in the Majors before the Sox signed him. He had a good year last year and is ok this year, but Barrett has been better plain and simple. Mike F, there is nothing to gag about...just the way it is.

I did say just for the fun of it, and it's always nice to have a new audience.
