If I could build a team, Kevin Hoef would be the SS. The Catcher would be Josh Thole! He is a great kid and one of the bombs he hit was a bomb to beat us. I would take Broadway and Barrett (Marion) and my two kids Daniels and Denton on the hill. I'd also consider Flannagan (Belleville West) and Gass (O'Fallon). I'd take the Wiggs boy from Belleville East. You guys have never heard of him. However, he is one of the scrappiest kids I've ever seen and we just could not get him out. I'd take my centerfielder Shane McBride also. ALL 5'5 INCHES OF HIM. Some of you up north or some of you Tinley Park posters can tell stories about him after the catches he has made against you guys the last 3 years.

Others:

I'd take Smalley just because I think he is a great kid. BETTER YET, HE IS A GREAT PLAYER!

Since we get to pick this team, I'd take that O'Connor kid that is running around the south where they have Alligators looking for those Indians. From what I know of the stock he is from, he'd be a no-brainer to take early!

I'd take a few more but this is a pretty good start to a great team. JMHO!

yes and for this reason im never going to amount to anything and i sit at home in front of my computer talking trash crying getting drunk and smoking packs of ciggerettes
What is the big hype about Jake Christansen......i have played against the kid for years and he can not hit any ball that is not right down the middle of the plate...and thats not even talkin about changeups or a good breaking ball..if there is a good pitcher on the mound who knows how to throw the kid wont touch it...i dont think i have seen the kid hit a ball to the right side any time that i have played against him
Hey Beenthere, I'd lighten up a little bit on Lemont. It's not like the Lincolnway's have been a baseball powerhouse the over the last few years. With all those students, you would think they could fair a little better.

Player34, as for Jake, if you have played against him for years you would know that he's a very good hitter. He hit in the cleanup spot and well over .400 for me his whole grade school career and continued to do the same at Lockport. All those years of great hitting is certainly not a fluke. He's one heck of an athlete and I wish him the best at Iowa.

Gamer....player34 has been taking "shots" at individual players for a long time.

Why take a shot at Christiansen, who is an outstanding athlete, both baseball and football? Too, he's won State Championships in both sports at the highest high school levels!

BTW....Enrollment doesn't matter if the kids don't come out to play for the team.
Beenthere, if you have a problem with someone taking shots at someone then take a shot back at them and leave the community out of it. I know that this person took a cheap shot at Ryan and he didn't deserve it. But in my case, I'm just protecting my homeland! You took the first shot at Lemont so I just fired back.

Also, if you took the time to read my whole post, then you would see that I also responded to player34 and defended Jake and complemented Jake on his accomplishments. Let me tell you this about Jake, he's one hard working kid. In baseball and in football. He put in a lot of sweat to accomplish what he has over the years. If he continue to play basketball he probably would have lead his team in scoring, as he had one heck of a shot.

Lastly, if you think enrollement doesn't matter then I have to disagree. Any school that starts with a larger enrollment starts with an advantage. If a program can't get kids to come out and play and stay interested then there's a problem with the program.
