I'm about 90% certain I'm thinking of the right team here as they played my son's JC team in fall game few weeks ago. This is same team if they have new coach (wears a beard) and team won only a few games last year. Although my sons team thumped his clearly less talented team, several of us parents were most impressed with how hard this coach coached right to end of both games, especially for fall game. He was constantly teaching, stayed very positive and won us over with his enthusiasm to the point where couple of us shook his hand after game. He indicated a "house cleaning" had/was taking place within program. If this is right team, I'd say your son is going to a program where he has chance to play right away and under a promising, young energetic coach.
Thanks, Cowboyfan, for the response. Almost every day I ride by IVCC, I see the players out on the field practicing. I can see my son out there in a couple of years, but of course like other juniors, he hasn't really a clue where he wants to go. I should really consider taking him to a game to see how the team and coach work together. Right now, I'm not pushing too much...I just remind him to get good grades and think about the future because high school will be over quicker than he thinks! He has a lot of time still to decide where to go.
