I am looking for the best videos/books out there. I have heard about Rob McDonald's and Griffin's vids. Any opinions on those and then maybe some others?? Thanks!!
Look for Bob Bennett's catching video. Coach Bennett not only coached at CSUF for over 30 yrs, he was also a catcher himself and is an expert in the field. My son is fortunate to have had him coach him personally as part of his school team. He teaches footwork, balance and mental preparedness. I highly recommend his materials!
If you can find one, get Jerry Weinstein's catching manual. It is as good as you're going to find. I was given one by a buddy, and it contains outstanding information.
I am in favor of multiple sources of info! You never know where you'll find a tip/technique that works best for a player.
We have the Bennett video and book which has been very helpful. THere is a lot of info in both, however its not the most entertaining video nor interesting book! I also have Weinsteins "Baseball Coaches Survival Guide," It has a pretty good section on catching, lots of good photos, especially considering its a general reference guide.
