Who cares how they won. They won the World Series! They should have a year where everything falls in to place once every 88 years. It hasn't happened for the Cubs. Too bad. But as Jack Brickhouse used to say, "Every team has a bas century now and again."
Every team needs some luck every now and then , but the Sox won with the best pitching staff in the bigs. Expect them back in the hunt again. Notice they kept the staff in tact for the most part. Pitching wins Championships and if you think otherwise, think again...
Who in the world cares what Rob Neyer (an ESPN "insider") thinks.
I'll be happy to tell him what he can do with this "regression to the mean" theories.
Have NOTHING TO DO WITH BASEBALL and especially not with the Chicago White Sox, World Series Champions of 2005 and soon to be World Series Champions in 2006...in a few more months.
Cub fans? You're day will come in 2037, when I'm munching worms.
