I'm a sophomore in high school, i'm a pitcher and outfielder. I want to go to college and beyond. One thing that worries me the fact that there's another sophomore on my team that is amazing. I'm afraid that he will get all the looks and they wont even notice me. is that something i need to worry about, or will they look at me also. I'm a lefty and i throw about 70mph give or take. He is a righty and he throws 80mph give or take.

TR, agree completely. 2 years ago my son joined a travel team that had the best pitcher I had ever seen. Yes, he was tops on the staff, which meant for the first time in his life, my son wasn't.

But when the scouts came out to see our team, sometimes they saw the stud, sometimes they saw my son instead. Sometimes they saw other talent on the team as well.

The moral of the story is: Don't begrudge anyone else their success. In fact, seek out successful players and hang as close to them as you can! There's room for lots of folks to succeed. Plus, you might even learn something from other successful players.

P.S. If you are only throwing 70 at age 16, you aren't going to get a lot of looks until you get your velocity up, so for now, worry more about your own development and less about others'. You are a good 10+ mph behind your competition at this point.
