Jeez am I mad!

I was on another board where they mostly deal with the kiddyball (12U) crowd, and got to see how really crazy a lot of the folks are when they’re dealing with that age group!

After spending the last several days on this board discussing safety issues with some pretty darn informed people, its amazing to go back to the lower levels and see what kind of ignorance there is!

Right now on one board, there’s at least 5 active threads where people are actually berating LLI because they’ve instituted the mandatory pitch count rule this year.

And some of the arguments they come with are positively amazing! One is that its wrong to count pitches against the P for an intentional walk! In my mind, intentional walks in 12U ball are flat stupid to begin with, but even so, how many can they possibly be talking about?

Many people just seem to feel that the little kids are indestructible, and because they don’t see the effects of too much pitching for 2-3 years when a whole lot of kids need treatment or surgeries, they have no idea of the cumulative effects.

Sorry! I’m just fed up with people who seem to want to do everything in their power to treat kids like miniature adults, then whine and cry later on!

Absolutely agree with you on IBB's.

The sad thing is not that they don't know, but that they won't listen.
