CLARY EXERCISES
DEMONS (WARRIORS)!

With one swing of his bat, Senior David
Clary erased 4 consecutive 1-run losses to the
Nansemond River Warriors and a 7-year playoff
drought for the Indian River Braves. With 2
strikes and 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th inning,
Clary took a breaking pitch deep over the left
field fence for his 2nd HR of the season and a 3-2
victory for the Braves.

Junior Kevin Howerin, a catcher by trade,
batted the Warriors for 5-plus innings, and Senior
Kyle Taduran finished what Howerin started,
setting up the Clary heroics.

Junior Lance Alley collected two hits and
Sophomore Matt Dickason had two clutch bunts
that kept the Braves in control of the game.

For their effort, the Braves are rewarded
with a game against the District-winning and
#1-seed Western Branch Bruins on Tuesday,
May 20th at Nansemond River High, 5:30pm.
