This was a superb high school baseball game. Indian River and Hickory and 4 pitchers played to the middle of the 10th inning in a 0-0 game only to have play suspended because of lightning. Hickory's Gregory threw 7 innings 0R 8H 3BB 10Ks; River's Fuqua matched his foe for 6 innings 0R 3H 4BB 8Ks. IR reliever Spainhour threw 3 innings 0R 2H 1BB 3Ks while Hickory reliever McCreight threw 3 innings 0R 1H 2BB 1HBP 7Ks. Wow, what a game. Shame it had to end under VHSL rule as a 0-0 tie. Indian River staff has 1.000 ERA through its 16 games.
It sounds like it was a heck of a game. I'm sorry to hear it ended as a tie, that's a shame. I am sure both teams would have preferred to play it out.
