td11,

I can give you some info on some of these colleges.

My son and I recently visited Wright State on an official visit and really liked the coaches and facilities, seems like a program headed upwards. They compete in the Horizon League against Wisconin-Milwaukee, Illinois-Chicago, Cleveland State, Youngstown State, Detroit, Butler, etc. They have a new basketball practice facility that is also home to the strength and conditioning program - it is VERY nice. Coach Cooper stated that he hoped to have something of similar quality for the baseball program in the near future. Coach Cooper and one of his assistants both played and coached at U. of Miami (Florida, not Ohio). I was very impressed with the coaches and even the players that I met. Also, the school is actually in the suburban area of Dayton, so it does not really have a "city school" feel. They have many big D1 schools (Miami, TCU, Wake Forest) on their schedule in addition to their conference games.

I played football against Murray State and Jacksonville State in college, so I know the schools somewhat well. Murray State has nice facilities and is a neat college town, close to Kentucky Lake. Their athletic programs are usually pretty good. Jacksonville State used to be a power in Div 2 football and baseball (they are now Div 1 - 1A in football). I think they still do pretty well. I remember that they had great football facilities at that time. My brother-in-law played baseball against them and I think that they had a top program back then. Sorry, but my knowledge is a little dated.

Hope this helps.
