Initial contact with college coaches

My son kept it short Cover letter with resume. Resume listed academic accomplishments (GPA, honor roll etc), and his Baseball Resume high school, summer fall teams, accomplishments, national tournaments he particpated in (Max 1 page).

In the cover letter (keep it short 2 paragraphs), let the coach know your interest in his program and request he send a questionaire.

On the main website there is a sample letter (under recruiting tips), and again for me for the initial contact keep it short.

Second contact will be returning questionaire.

Depending on the quality of the High School Program (ex. Bellaire HS), a recommendation letter from the coach may aid your kid. Otherwise, send the other information along with a fall schedule or note saying a video is available upon request.
