Has anyone had an elbow injury explained like this before "osteochondral lesion of the posterior medial aspect of the trochlea consistent with posterior impingement from valgus over load"? If so what was treatment? We've spoke about possible surgery and getting second opinion. Sucks because it's his Junior year and was really hoping this summer was going to be the big recruiting season for him. He's D2 or below guy , so hopefully those schools will still be in need in Fall. What we gather is JR HS is done. Any help would be appreciated.

My son is a 2018 and also had an injury that required surgery. He played injured his junior year and had surgery as soon as school was out.  Due to the length of the recovery period he missed the summer after his junior year & fall of his senior year.  Essentially he missed his entire recruiting window - which presented a lot of challenges.  One of which was that the early signing date really accelerated the recruiting timetable for programs at all levels - not just D1. Everything worked out okay for us, but I would offer some advice based on our experience.  If surgery is required get it done immediately. Hopefully your son could be ready to play this summer - or at least part of it.  The summer is way more important than his junior year on varsity. If you send me a PM and give me more information about your son I will be able to offer more specific advice about last minute events that could help you.

Taking a stab at this. Loose cartilage  or bone fragments causing elbow impingement.  Might just need an elbow clean out.

I took a guess at it as son had his elbow cleaned out when he had ulnar nerve transposition.

To be honest, that's what we're hoping for. If it's that, maybe he could atleast get back in summer time at some point. Not sure what time is for a clean out.

You will

Wait to see what the doctor suggests, you can pm me about recovery if that is what they need to do.
