No, it is a funny shirt because it epitomizes another in a 100+ year line of futility by the worst team/organization in baseball.

You forgot, Fast, I was a big Cubs fan in the late '50's and '60's. They were happy losers then with the likes of Sauer and Minner and Fondy and Banks and Baker and Ernaga and Moryn and on-and-on. A big crowd was 8,000.

Everything we (Sox fans) suggested in April has come to pass in September.

Sox will be fine...4 1/2 out with 30+games to go. Tigers will fold, just as I've suggested in earlier posts...starting to come true. If Williams would have traded for a journeyman centerfielder, Sox would be 3-5 games AHEAD of the pack instead of having a HOLE at the bottom of the order.

Sox will either win the division or be the wild-card entry.

They will then sweep the playoffs and anything can happen in the World Series.

Go White Sox!
They also would be 3 or 5 games ahead if they would have played Anderson more in cf, sorry you need the defense they way they are pitching. 3 or 5 ahead if they would have won those games early in the season that all the fans and experts kept saying don't worry about it the saeson is early, HEY THEY ALL COUNT IN THE END. they would also be 3 or 5 a head if their pitchers knew how to hold a baserunner, or their runners knew how to steal a base or if garcia wasn't a gutless pitcher, all in all not to impressive this year. I am still a sox fan but I can't blame this on anderson or williams.
Another stellar performance by Bobby Jokes tonite.

Sox couldnt win a series v. the worst team in the AL and then couldnt beat the Red Sox without Ortiz, Crisp, Papelbon, W Pena and a starting pitcher who has started 2 games in the past 3 years.

And the worse news of all for the 3rd place white sox is that Liriano threw off a mound today and said he felt "Great"

Get McCarthy is the rotation and move Crede from 7th in the lineup to 4th-5th and then you might start winning games again. It doesnt help that you have 4 consecutive batters in your lineup that have a problem batting over .270.

The Tigers and Twins are younger, have better coaching and have a better farm system. Your "dream" season was last year, and it wont happen again.

It gets better...Straight from the mouth of a current White Sox player to my cousin who is dateing a sox player. Joe Crede is gone after this year, Scott Boras is his agent and already gave managament a number to work with and they cannot get close to it.
Beenthere

Don't remember many if any sox fans saying in April that the sox would be 5.5 games behind the Tigers with 25 (not 30+) games to go. Or much about how the Twinkies would be moving past the sox for the wild card. Too many players way over theri heads last year. Jenks is turning back into a pumpkin. Crede will play most of his best seasons with the Cubs.

Like I said before, this reminds me of the Bears after they won the Super Bowl......looked like they may win a few more. Looks like the sox "dynasty" was more like a lucky, one time shot in the dark. There sure isn't anything special about the way the sox have played the second half of this season. And after the collapse, The Chairman will go back to being cheap again.

Oh, yeah......the Tigers pretty much did fold, but even with that the sox haven't managed to make any headway have they? Maybe because they folded?

Chargers...This is the big leagues. Everyone has bad outings otherwise no-hitters would be pitched every day.

You can take McCarthy. I've never liked the guy. Does nothing in big games.

If the Sox lose the next two games in Boston, it's over for them this year. I truly believe they will fold and look to start blaming everyone but themselves for their downfall.

Ozzie still hasn't figured out that Thome can't hit lefthanders.

I still like the Sox, but they haven't addressed the obvious, i.e., centerfield and hamburgers like Riske and McCarthy. What was up with Ozzie telling everyone that Sweeney is going to play some left or center? If he believes that Anderson still isn't ready, why didn't he move him 2 months ago?

Aren't Pierzynski, Thome and Konerko, the slowest runners in the history of the game? Does any one of them get down the line in less than 5.4 seconds? Always running to stop instead of running through the base.

I'm going back to managing school.
After reading these posts, one has to wonder...are the people bashing the sox just bitter about the cubs? We have enough to worry about as cub fans then what the sox do. We are a pathetic excuse for a baseball team. The cubs will be down here in Atlanta this weekend and I refuse to go see them play. True cub fans want to burn down wrigley field, and the jerks at the tribune are toasting to another great year!

I know Atlanta has never really drawn because people are A)more into football and B) they are just used to winning. Some of that is a myth because fans never make it out of the establishments within the stadium. The point being is people in atlanta, after one year of losing...are angry...over a decade of titles and one year they are mad? Im sure the team will go out and make some moves to make themselves better....and our 100 Million dollar, big market team is talking about rebuilding? Do you ever hear any other big market teams talk about rebuilding? 40,000 fans a game paying out the rear to go, rebuilding shouldnt be a thought. Big market teams use the farm system as an additive they dont bank on it. Guys like papalbon, Milky Cabrara, Cano and many others come up and contribute.

One of the most frustrating things this year has been timing. You look at the stats for Jones, Murton, Pierre and Ramirez and they are good numbers....but where were they a few months ago? When they were needed, Pierre was hitting about .222, Ramirez a little higher, Jones was running the bases worse then anyone we saw in the LLWS. When the towel was thrown in...Ramirez starting hitting bombs, Pierre is playing like they thought he would, Murton is hitting for average and Jones has good numbers. But if you split them they are horrible.

What my point is? Im just as mad about the cubs having another horrible year and sick over the fact a huge market team with a huge payroll is being compared to the pirates. While you have a good AA team in the florida marlins at .500 fighting for a wild card spot......but there is no reason to hate on the sox! The question is raised...are you a cubs fan or a sox hater? The haters have come out in full force since the south siders got a ring. The only thing im jelous of is sox fans get to see baseball with meaning...we havent seen that since 2003!
Indians....

The Cubs are so bad, being bitter would be ridiculous. More of a joke. But no need to burn down Wrigley.....the bosses downtown only care about the money, but they have spent enough to win, just poorly. Can't blame it on them.

No, I think the reason some Cub fans may find joy in the sox futility is more because they enjoy seeing sox fans who have always trashed the Cubs suffer. Nothing more nothing less.
I have never played at the white sox level or coached, but after watching last night I have to ask those that know. What the heck do they ask the bullpen coaches after a guy warms up? Heck even my travel coaches or parents would say he doesn't look ready or he doesn't have it tonight or good fastball can't get his off speed over. It was obvious last night Jenks was not ready or just didn't have it. You can't come into a game as the "closer" and walk the first guy on 4 pitches in a close game and tell me the guy is ready to go. I couldn't beleive watching the end of that game. Jenks is a good player but he is not an automatic, if he is not ready give it to someone else or let Mcdougal finish the game.
Couldn't stay away from catching a quick look at the Cubs. I noticed a bleacher fan, lying down, fully stretched out with plenty of room on either side. It was so reminiscent of Wrigley back in the 60's and 70's. As Ralph Kramden so beautifully put it; "Be kind to the people you meet on the way up, 'cause your gonna meet the same people on the way down". I wish the suits up in Tribune tower could have seen this sight.

Kason Gabbard??? 0-3 ERA 5.01. Someone explain.
