Background: Last Summer (2003)my '05 son attended a showcase where he was seen by a Scout who recomended him to another Showcase company. Both Showcase companies are highly respected.
The second company called us the Monday following the Showcase to invite him to attend one of their two Showcases that still had an opening for players. My son was committed to tournaments with his summer team and could not attend either event. However, I asked if he would be invited to their event nearest our hometown next Summer (2004) and were told that he certainly would be.
I have seen a couple of posts on this Board that some of the kids have already been invited to the Showcase we would like him to attend nearest our home town. He has not yet received an invitation. About three weeks ago, I sent an E-mail to the showcase director to determine if my son was still on their list to be invited. I didn't hear anything back, so I E-mailed him again last week noting that I understood that he received a lot of E-mails, but we were trying to make plans for the Summer of my son's important Junior year. I still have no response to the E-Mails.
I am wondering if I have done anything improper by contacting the event director to inquire about the invitation. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
