Runner on 3rd < two out, batter hits a nubber which the catcher pounces on, the batter/runner running in fair territory outside the running lane is struck by the catchers throw to first, the throw is snagged by the first baseman for an out, the runner from 3rd scores on the play.

Question is it interference and a dead ball or since the catch and out were completed is the interference ingnored allowing the run to score?

piaa-- I think you may have misread the Q, he said <2 out (i.e. Less than 2 out)...

Did U1 call interference on the BR?

If he did, then it is a dead ball and R3 returns. If he didn't then the play stands. I suppose if the question is, "Should interference be called?" Then this falls into the category of "You had to be there" to say for certain, but it is a judgement call, so whether or not you agreed with U1's judgement, as far as the rules go, he was right in his ruling, either way.

Now what am I going to call?

I guess I'd prolly say that if the deflection off of the BR was so little that it's direction wasn't changed then I'd let the play stand.

Strictly, by the book, it's interference, though.
