hi

I'm a 17 year old baseball player from the netherlands(the country of Andruw Jones, Randall Simon, Hensley Meulens and my brother Ralph Milliard). I just wanted to know if it could be possible for me to come play ball in america and study at the same time. If so, and somebody has more information for me how and where ro get it done. Please don't hesitate and let me know as soon as possible.

p.s. I know that this isn't the place for me to post my message but obviously there are only coaches here and that's why i hope you can help me.

thanks

Look for the local pro-scout in your area and tell him what you are looking for. If you are able to play at college level he will be interested in helping you. At the same time you could send e-mail to any collegue coach and asking what to do. Other way is to asist to any showcase here in the United States. Maybe PG will answer your post with some ideas.

It happens all the tiume in college basketball so there is a process in place

This young man needs to select the schools he has an interest in and immediately contact them to see what their specific procedures are and then go from there--I can tell you that it is tough $$$ wise because of the financial aid aspect and not being a US resident. There is not a lot of money available

Bottom line is that it can happen but it is not easy

Good luck

I would suggest doing some research and getting information about players playing professionally in the Netherlands that are American born. There are many, and they probably would love to help you. Also, you may want to talk to the organizers of the Honkbal Tournament that is held in Haarlem - great tournament, and American teams play in it (I did years ago and it was a great experience!).
Just a few hints - other than that, I'd simply contact some American colleges and see what they think.
