Winning a East Cobb WWBA event is a thing to remember and the Championship Ring is pretty cool for the guys to help remember it as well!

Coach, Very interesting idea

My son is just a freshman, but since I hear such good things about you Coach May, can he at least be your bullpen catcher? He pitches and plays 3b too, but I'm pretty sure your older guys have that covered.

In all seriousness though, I'm a left coaster, so I am unfamiliar with the East Cobb WWBA. What can you all tell me about it?

Perfect Game - WWBA is Perfect Game's wood bat tournaments, many during the summer are held at the East Cobb Complex in Marietta, GA.

How about a 17 year old second catcher?

My son is a '13. Way too young for those guys. But I would pay for him to be a bat boy just to soak up the atmosphere and listen and learn from you guys! He promises to hustle, clean, run errands and only beg occaisionally to take BP or infield with you guys.

Well Rob -- I guess your 17 y.o. gets a spot ahead of my just 14 y.o.! Like I said, he'll catch pens. But he would like to get some hitting in!

If you promise to coach, I guarantee my son will be there with bells on! Hey, I know a great catcher with a plus arm, plus power and calls a great game. You might know him, he is probably eating you out of house and home right now. Heck, he might even get that elusive triple!

You guys say the word and Im in. One last go around next July. And of course I will take a young kid that wants to bull pen catch. Mine did that as a 15 year old at the WWBA 18u a couple of years ago. He got a couple of abs and did fine. Rob how about two front line catchers! I can just imagine how much fun it would actually be to do something like this. We could be the HSBBW "Gamers". Now we would have to convince some of our posters to take one tourney off from their usual showcase team. But for me it would be worth it. And Im not kidding we could field one heck of a team. I would love to get some younger kids as well just so they could experience it with older guys already signed. Just a thought. Again say the word and Im in.

That is seriously a fabulous idea! If you ever put the team together, we could invite anyone who can make it to watch these fine young men play, and have a HS Baseball Web mini-convention. Give me a little advance notice and I'll order some hats or something so that everyone can find each other when we get to the games!

We are in!!!!!! If this idea becomes a go, then Kevin11 and son are definites. Anything I can do to help, just ask. I think it would be a tremendous opportunity for these young men to meet some players that they might see a few times a year, and heck we parents just might enjoy it a little bit as well.

I'll work on my lhp as well - I think there is a home depot nearby that we can shop for an extension ladder...

My '12 will catch bullpens as well. He catches bullies for a local college and will catch many more his weekend at a showcase.
