Just thought it interesting to see the standings--not awarding any trophy at this time---is it possible that Ozzie the Great will be outmanaged by the Truly experienced Leyland--be interesting to see who presses the right buttons this year

Boy speaking of pushing buttons--it does not take much to get White Sox fans going--LMAO
Soxnole,

Bevington may have been a clown, but the real circus is happening at Clark & Addison.

To have come so close just a few years ago and looking at the mess that's here now is just too much to bear for this lifelong Cub fan. A AAA team that's also last in runs scored makes things even worse. There's a saying that things are never as bad as they appear, but in this case I beg to differ.
itsrosy, why the Phillies? You can always come over to the dark side. Of course, that blue might clash with all of the sea of red. LOL!

Heard Bernie Miklas (St. Louis Post) discussing that he heard rumors that the Redbirds are going to seek a certain Phillies OF. If that happened... BTW, isn't it worth coming over to the darkside just to watch that certain firstbaseman get after it?
CoachB,

That's a tough one. I've never had any animosity towards the Redbirds, although LaRussa isnt' my cup of tea. But when you've been a Cub fan forever, and consider the Cards the elite team in the division, asking me to come over and root for them might be asking too much.

The Phillies are a different story. I get to root agains the Mets, which is easy for me, and the Phillies are a nice club. I'm a NL guy and I think for this season, "until the Cubs get things straightened out", I can root for the Phillies without feeling much angst. That in itself is a good thing for me.

My son and I will be in the left field bleachers tonight hoping Maddux can keep the ball in the yard against the Reds.

itsrosy, I understand. My Daughter's God Parents are die hard Cubs fans from the Windy City. When we asked them to sponsor my Daughter at her Baptism and be her God Parents, I knew one thing for sure. If they could remain so diehard true to those Cubs, regardless of what my kid did, they'd be there for her. THEY HAVE AND CONTINUE TO BE TREMENDOUS GOD PARENTS! LOL! It does make for some interesting get-togethers come do dog days of late August/September.
