It's a Beautiful Game

I was at this game on opening day 1998 in Norfolk. I think this painting started as a photo on the front of the Virginian-Pilot. The colors of the sky are not exaggerated.



Reading this page , I'm not sure this is a painting. The light that evening was surreal.

This was a nice idea for a painting, but judging by the directions of the shadows, the time of the game would have to be early in the morning.




Nonetheless, I always love the green of the grass at the ballpark.

The stadium was not built at the traditional angle. Here's a west to east perspective from Google Earth.

Here's the best baseball picture I could come up with. None of them are mine. It's just a picture I found online.

Indeed. He threw 1 inning of scoreless baseball against the Angels in a blowout. I believe after the game he said the threw 15 knuckleballs and 1 blazin fastball at 74mph.
