Just got back from attending our first Opening Weekend Series at my Son's school.
As an incoming Freshman at a D1 school, I tried to prepare him to be patient, work hard and hope he gets some at-bats and good experience this year.
Like most 19 year olds, he wasn't very forthcoming about how he was doing, just the old, "I'm doing OK?"
When I heard his name in the starting lineup on Friday, I almost popped the buttons on my shirt!
What a thrill!
He ended up starting all 3 games and held his own.
A few hits, no errors and he didn't fall down running out to his position.
Looked back on all of the hours and dollars spent, the uncertainty of the recruiting process, the time spent on this site, etc.
To all of you that are going through the process now, all I can say is:
It's worth it!
