Thanks guys. We actually cancelled ours a while back so it took us a sec to read the article too. The San Diego Tribune ran a short story today (link below). James missed 10 days with a contusion on his wrist (hit a grand slam the day after he returned). His buddy, Jackson Merrill, just got sent to IL for a wrist injury which sucks so we are praying for a speedy and complete recovery. James has spent the last week hitting the ball hard right at people so he’s looking to move past that and still keep his strike outs low (down from like 33% in the ACL to under 18% this year in low A). The most excitement we hear from his is when a major leaguer comes through on rehab and buys the guys a nice dinner. 😄

That’s the intro offer, think they’ve had that for a few years. It was what hooked me a few years back. The $8/mo it costs after that is still a steal to me.

When it first came out the intro offer was $30 for six months. I took it. I didn’t renew when I realized I wasn’t reading enough to continue.

Hi all. Figured I’d send a mid season update. The boy had two stints on IL dealing with bruising on his wrist so he missed about 20 games. He switched to an ax handle bat which seems to have resolved the issue. After making the adjustment to swinging a bat basically without a nob (on a messy rehab assignment in the ACL) he came back and finished strong with a current season slash of .325/.447/.527 in Low A (OPS of 1.010). Best part is is strike out percentage is under 18% and he has more RBIs than strikeouts.

He’s gotten to share a dug out with major leaguers like Wil Meyers, Jurickson Profar and Mike Clevinger (Wil and Profar were great with him) and the team “won” the first half of the California league for a berth in the end of season playoffs so he got his dogpile moments. You will often find him with the Gatorade cooler when they have a walk off or for the first franchise combined no-hitter. He finished out before the all star break with his 7th home run this year in his last at bat today.

As always, I have to share the real stuff. Last away series he was wearing a different number…because he left his jersey in his locker room. He FaceTimed me grumbling and cleaning out the fridge because the guys were gross. 😂 And he is supposedly on his way to AZ to get his driver’s license before he heads home tomorrow. He was supposed to get it when he was on rehab but didn’t think it through and thought he could drive himself to take the test. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m in Mozambique for work cheering on his HS teammate who got drafted (and hopefully will get drafted) as well as some of our HSbbweb friends who have high hopes!!
