Not to take anything away from Jason's success story, 2 more VA players made the list. I see that Jemery Jeffress went in 1st round (16th) and Scott Sizmore (VCU) also has been drafted, just forgot what round. Congrats to all of these VA players, may they enjoy great success.

Sizemore was drafted 5th round by Detroit

Mike Ballard 47th round pick of the Twins
Congrats to all the local talent that was drafted yesterday. There could be more today. Special cudos to Scott Sizemore. I have had the pleasure of watching him play ball up close for the last 2 years and in my biased and humble opinion there isn't a finer young man on the ball field. He shows tremendous work ethic and an intensity for the game that very few athletes his age have. I predict he will do very well at the next level. Terry and Sandy...you guys must be super proud of his accomplishments to date, AND for what the future holds for Scott. We're gonna miss ya! We wish Scott the best of luck in the pursuit of his dream. Don't forget to come back and see us occasionally next year. I know Terry...when it warms up. LOL
Congrat's to all player's, especially the ones I know, Jason, Scott, Harold and Patrick.

Special congratulations to vallefty44 and cpkebaseballdad, parents of player's whom I had the fortune of watching play many moons ago.
Both Patrick and Scott are awesome young men as well as very talented players which is a direct reflection of your excellent parenting.
estimator, cpkebaseballdad, Lawman & others,
Thanks for the kind words about Scott. cpkebaseballdad best of luck to Patrick. I know how proud you are & he will make you even prouder, because as good of a baseball player he is or will become he is a even better young man. I, like many others in the Hampton Roads area have been able to watch some pretty special young men play baseball over the years. I've had the opportunity to meet, coach with & against a great many of each. Michael Cuddyer, David Wright, Ryan Zimmerman, B.J. & Justin Upton, Patrick Nichols, Mike Ballard, Harold Mozingo, David Winfree, Chris Rahl, Matt Smith and many others. But the common denominator for each is that beside being great ballplayers they are each fine young men away from the field. A very special breed of young man in today's time. Best of luck to all the new Virginia pro draftees & continued success for the past VA pros. Keep making us proud both on & off the field.

The Eastern region puts out great teams and great players. It is one of the reasons I like watching state tournament games. The other regions are good also, but as a group they are behind. I grew up and went to a Northern region team, and my kids went to osbourn in the Northwest region so I do cheer for them to succeed, but I know that they are always going to be challenged when the play the Easern region. Sometimes they win sometimes they lose, but the games are always competitive.

Congrats to all Virginians drafted.

I had the pleasure of watching Jeremy Jeffress, if you have not seen him yet, he has a great fast ball, and his off speed pitch has improved so much. We described him the region as a "poor man's Doc Gooden." He is not that far behind Gooden when he was 18. He is not Gooden yet either, but the Brewers thought enough of him to take him in the first round.

I have not had the pleasure of seeing Jason or Scott play, but look forward to seeing them as they advance through the ranks.

I get to see Ryan Zimmerman play a lot as I have been to a number of games. He is spectacular in the field, and solid at the plate. he will only get better with experience.
