Batter runner is out when he turns back to home, right? Seems like the 1st baseman blew it by allowing the runner on 3rd to score.

There were two out to start the AB, turn around and step on first or simply walk Baez all the back to the plate. If he doesn’t reach the run doesn’t count. Bone head play by the first baseman. No one else to blame as who would expect such a dumb play.

I can't help but feel bad for Will Craig, and the rest of the Pirates who didn't cover first base or shouted to Will Craig to just run back and tag first.
Would the run have counted if Craig tagged Baez after Contreras touched home plate? The tag still would have been considered a force out, right?
