Do junior colleges/community college have national letters of intent. My son has one very interested in him went to a couple of work outs when he was on fall break, receives letters/emails. The coach said he would be wathching him pitch this spring and is in close contact with his high school coach. But..he has made no commitment to my son. Should we ask? This is this school he would really like to attend and play for...Thanks

run7 - yes, when he gets an offer and it's during the signing period, there will be a National Letter of Intent issued - it is filed with the NJCAA, not the NCAA of course. It will specify the offer, year, etc. The signing period for JUCO for the '06 grads isn't until Jan 15. It sounds like this school has interest in your son, but isn't making an offer yet. They can make the offer now, but he couldn't sign until Jan. That doesn't mean they won't, but in the mean time, your son needs to continue to explore other opportunities. IMO, never put all your eggs in one basket.
