We went to 2 Jr. Days. Both schools were successful programs. Both followed a similar schedule. Start in the morning with about 25 kids and their folks, addressed by the Coaches, AD, radio announcer, etc.

Then tour the ball park, school, meet the academic advisor and eat in the athlete lunch room.

Yum. Smile

Watch the game after lunch and go home.

You should try to attend if invited if you are interested, but if it's not feasable right now, just tell the coach. There is not much "one on one" stuff anyway so maybe an unofficial visit later gets more accomplished anyway.

I wouldn't "chase" a Jr. Day invite from a school. If you are getting Jr. Days invites, the right offer at the right school at the right time will likely follow. JMO
We attended one jr day, along with about 50 others. I heard it was their 3rd out of 4.
After that, we decided, since most of them were durng his season, not to attend anymore.
It did give him a chance to decide that it was no longer one of the schools he was interested in. So it served it's purpose.
I would tell you that if the visits are realitively close to home, go. If not, send you son to camp if they have one, better use of your $$$$. JMO.
Junior Day is a chance for them to show off their school and program to a lot at the same time. Remember officially they can only invite 25.
If you are unable to attend, drop the coach a thank you with an explanation anyway.
"JR Days" are not the end of the world if missed---in fact an unofficial on your part may get you more "one on one" with the coaches and admissions people you want to see

Many "JR DAYS" are group things

If you are invited and are not going to attend you want to send a personal note of thanx to the coach and see when you can make an "unofficial"-- this way he is aware of your interest and does not think you are simply blowing him off/.

Jr Days are nice to go to but missing it is not a major deal. The important thing is that the college has expressed an interest. It is up to the player to let them know if the feeling is mutual! So, if he is invited and can't attend AND is interested in the school, make sure he contacts the coach! Let them know you're interested and why you can't go. It's just common courtesy and keeps the communication with the college open. Good Luck with recruiting! Smile
