We live in a state that participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchange. And that means that a kid can go to another state that participates in the WUE and the tuition cost is 150% of resident tuition. For us, the extra tuition costs were part of his scholarship.

Texas belongs to some group like that, but right now I can't think of the name or anything close that would jog my memory.

I have, and continue to, gain so much information about each school by perusing each one's website. Sometimes these out of state tuition breaks are listed as institutional scholarships.

I sure did like the JUCO situation out of state. Some are not a bad size you know, and they have dorms and they can be 3 hours away.
