I don't think so.  Your degree will matter where it is from, but not where you started.

Let me turn that question around.  Are a student's chances in today's job market affected by which college he graduates from?   And, does a plan which involves attending a JC followed by a transfer to a 4 year school imply that the opportunity to play baseball will drive the choice of the 4 year college?

If the answers to both of these questions are "yes", then the answer to the original question is "very likely".

I agree with others that your diploma is what matters, not where you started. However, keep in mind that transferring into your preferred major is not a given at many schools. There can be limits on the number of transfers, limits within a major, credit transfer rules, etc. that can impact the process. So don't assume anything about your plan; do the research and talk to school administration about the details.

Lamar CC in Lamar, CO. Top D1 JuCo program with dorms. One thing that hit me here, in which my immediate thought was, "you can't do that." They have a program where community leaders "adopt" athletes. They take them to dinner, have them over to their house to wash clothes, etc. I guess that's perfectly within the rules in JuCo.

The JUCO here does the same thing.  I think that is great to have a support system for these boys.
