Does anyone here know of a senior HS player offered full athletic scholarship (or 50% for that matter) from a JUCO coach this late in the process ( late May,June)? I personally would have thought so, but Im getting a disappointing impression that they have given out ALL scholarship money at this point in the season. Am I wrong? I would have thought that they would wait until their (college) season is over, which is about this time, and then personally scout some possible recruits before exhausting their scholarship funds. I'm starting to believe that just about all the scholarship money at this point is gone. Give me the hard truth (please).

Most schools have already commited their scholarships by early Feb. It's like a puzzle and these coaches have a pretty good idea which freshman will return and renew scholarships as sophomores, which walkons will become scholarship players their sophomore year and who is leaving. That gives them an idea of how many they can offer and those are usually spent early. Sometimes they will be suprised and have a scholarship player leave/drafted and money opens up. If a coach waits until after their season to offer scholarships, he won't be a coach very long because he will be behind in the recruiting wars. Kid's want to commit early.
Depends on the coach some wait this late most do not. Also after the draft some may come open as well.
With the scholarships going from18 to 24...if they are fully funded, I would think that they hold back a few for D1 transfers
Yes, I know for a fact that it does happen, at least in the case of pitchers.
My son got his the last game of summer league, (NECBL), sign paperwork after game at picnic table as field lights going off. He was a transfer.
so your saayyyinnggg theres a chaanncce!!
I just received a text today from another Coach in my area. His kid was just offered by a nearby JUCO....so yes, there is a very realistic chance
Sudden there is all kind of things still to happen after the draft, especially concerning Jucos. So, yes there is still a good chance.
yes, absolutely it happens. I know of 2 kids that committed recently to good programs. Books and tuition FWIW
