I am a 2021 CIF who has just received a generic showcase invite from an assistant D1 baseball coach in the Big Ten. The showcase is being run by Junior Day Baseball, a company of which I have not heard of. I was interested because it was relatively cheap ($180) and was going to host coaches from several schools that I'm interested in. I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of this company. If so, I think it is a great chance for me to attend a camp in front of some of my favorite schools and to test the waters before I start targeting HA schools this summer and the summer before senior year. I would appreciate a second opinion on this. Thanks.

You had a previous post where you stated that you didn't yet have throwing velo numbers and your exit velo wasn't particularly good (albeit in part due to injury?).  There are a few keys to these types of showcases (the ones where you have multiple schools in attendance that you are interested in).

The keys (simplified) ...

- let those schools know you will be there

-have something to show them

If your measurables aren't quite where they need to be to impress these schools, I'd wait until next year for this event.  These things are typically annual and the same schools will be there next year.  You want to take advantage of such an opportunity when you are ready.  If your measurables are where they need to be, then heck yeah, do the event.  And make sure you contact the schools on your list in advance.  I wouldn't give any value to the generic invite.
