Junior Olympics...?

My son is going, playing for Dallas Panthers.
This event has been a goal of his for several years.From some 3000+ players, 36 will be chosen to train @ USC for 3 weeks. The final 18 will play internationally in August.

The JO has grown to 144 teams, 2 locations, part of the IOC... Yes, scouts and recruiters will be in abundance.

Very intense, very good, very rewarding week of baseball. Nice facilities at Jupiter.

My son participated last summer on the team you will be going with this year Lefty. He had a absolute great time.

Good Luck and keep the wining tradition going for Al. Plain old water will become your best friend, Florida is hot & humid in June, be in shape.

This is a great event. When my son attended 3 years ago I cannot remember scouts being there, only the scouts from USA baseball. My son was chosen to go to tryouts (in Houston), didn't make the team but had a blast. He played with a lot of top round 2003 draft picks and developed friendships he still emails to this day.
My understanding was that each coach was asked to submit a list of players they think may be Olympic material and would qualify. We were told that after he was chosen, they may have changed things.

Actually I am not going with Mr. McCormick; His facility is about an hour away from my house and practices would have been very hard to make as I already have a commitment to my 15U team. Going with the 16U Patriots/Outlaws I believe. Good to hear this is a great tourney. I don't think I will be on the list for Olympic material as I will just be joining this team for JO. I've only been to the Tucson venue but it was a great event with a lot of truly good players. Lots of fun watching so many good players from all over the country.

One thing, though, not many scouts. Many PG scouts but as I remember no more than 10 college or pro scouts that I saw.

This is a great tournament with many D1 scouts at the Florida tournament. All of the Florida schools had someone taking a close look at the "LARGE" talent pool.
