I've been looking forward to seeing video from the WWBA Jupiter tourney and was wondering if Jerry or Rick could give us an update? I know they are planning on making video available from all 100+ games so it's obviously a huge undertaking and maybe we won't be able to see anything for another month or more.

I know Perfect Game doesn't like to post anything here that sounds like an advertisement, and I wouldn't want to get in trouble with the owner ... Wink Wink Big Grin

... but if you guys have some info to share on how the Web-TV project is going, I'm sure there are other members who would also like to hear about it.

Hey Julie,

We are in the process of capturing, editing, titling, and exporting all 148 of the jupiter games...as well as putting together highlight reels, team coverage, skills workouts, and standout reports. Here's the progress so far on the games:

40 games caputured
30 games edited
5 games titled
0 games exported

We are going to start rolling out the games on December 15th. I expect to be finished with all the games by the 22nd barring any hard drive failure, which is rare.

We are getting calls all the time and the interest seems to be very high. College coaches are calling in like crazy.

The site is also in development and we are working with the same company that streams all the video on mlb.com . The video looks great.

Most people that have emailed me have asked, "How will we know who is pitching and who is hitting."

There will be titles on the screen with the following info for both the pitcher and the batter: name, height, weight, year, as well as the velosity range for each pitch a pitcher throws.

We have also edited out all the down time so that you don't have to sit around and wait to see the next pitch or swing.

Hope that helps and feel free to email me at rick@prospectmovie.com with more questions.

Rick,

That sounds exhausting - thanks for the update! Cool

I'm really interested to see videos of some of our members' sons, and also I would just enjoy seeing the level of baseball played at a major tourney like this since my son did not attend one like this in high school.

Parents (or players), when this gets going if you would be willing to post info here about which games your son played in and who he is, it would be fun to check some of them out during the snowy Minnesota winter! Big Grin

Yes!

Please do post if you were playing at jupiter or have a son playing. Editing these games can get redundant but that will give me something to look forward to seeing.

Also, after all the games are done, I can do a "HS Baseball Web Highlight Reel" featuring action from all the players associated with people at the baseball web. Could be pretty cool.

Rick
