If a kid wants to go to Jupiter but doesn't have a team that's going, is it fairly easy/common to be able to find a team that can use him for a few innings?

If he throws 88+ or is a lefty...yes.
A lot of kids play football, soccer, or just take time away from throwing. Most teams are not at full strength and many combine. But Jupiter WWBA is a lot different than WWBA at Lake Point. There will not be a single bad team in Jupiter. You would need to get on this now.
My son did this last year and had a great time. Now seeing some of his former teammates on teams he will play in college. it was a great experience, but he was recruited for the team in August.
It's a great tournament, if he can get a roster spot it's a lot of fun.
Direct them here: https://www.perfectgame.org/PlayerTeamBB/. My son did that a few years ago and had 4 different teams contact him.
You may want to reach out to some of the teams that are listed as going...
Reach out to coaches. That's what we did last year. Only ended up taking one call. Pretty much everyone is looking for pitching for Jupiter. Take into account the level of your pitcher and reach out to appropriate teams. Often it's far better to get him on a big name roster where he will only pitch two innings than on a team that has no real national footprint, but give him a lot of mound time.
