I feel compelled to say a big thanks to everyone involved with the HSBBW. Through this site, I now have hope that my son will be able to follow his dream past high school. It won't be an easy road, but I have received so much great advice and encouragement from so many websters over the past few years, it's unbelievable. This is simply the most incredible resource, and I'm so happy to have stumbled across it back in ought-three. To be able to interact with people whose own boys have made the leap to college and/or pro, showcase directors, and others like myself, still trying to clear the path ahead, is just an amazing gift. I thank you all, past, present, and future!

The spirit of the HSBBWEB site reminds me of a poem that was written by Will Allen Dromgoole and read by my coach at our team award banquet (many, many years ago Eek). I have never forgotten it, it's a good rule to live by, and I think it sums up the good people of the HSBBWEB.

The Bridge Builder

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening, cold and gray,
To chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way;
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide --
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pit-fall be,
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

Yeah...I'll have to get busy and do something worthwhile for you now instead of always putting it off...then I can slide down the pole from future to the present.

For anything in the past...can't imagine what I would have contributed that may have helped you other than constantly setting you straight on that whole International Dateline thing...perhaps that has helped Lil' Krak a time or two...anyway...you're welcome Krak.
