I just called to order the forms to for our Junior son. He will be a Senior next year. Last year we registered our older Son in the Summer. They told me that he needs to wait until the Fall of his Senior year to register. Is that correct? IF so when did the guidelines change? I though you needed to get started on this so that come Summer it will be easier when talking to College Coaches.

Sue - I could be wrong but our daughter is a senior graduating this year (tonight actually) and is an athlete as well. But if I remember correctly, you have to wait until their "senior year" which is essentially any time after their junior year concludes. Once their junior transcript is completed (grades issued), you can register. So I think you're correct unless they have changed something since last June or whenever it was when my daughter did it on-line. My guess is that your mistake was referring to your son as a "Junior". I got the same kind of response when I called to get the NCAA Guidelines book.
I registered my son Sunday night online. The school counselor said his transcript would be sent next week after grades are posted and the new transcripts are ready.

Sue, like you I kept reading last summer on the HSBBW and received conflicting info from lots of different people. Most important info seemed to be that you could register anytime you want, but until their Junior year is complete and transcript received, the Clearinghouse will not start processing the file.
