Who else will be in the running for the Beach title?

St Clair has always done a great job over there at Kellam. He has a strong group of returning seniors and should take the beach district crown. Battle will be for 2nd place, FC, PA Cox, and look for Salem to pull a few upsets.

I think it will be FC they have to much fire power and FC will execute in low scoring games better than Kellam. After Ray the pitching thins out for Kellam. I see it this way,

we had a kid transfer to cox named joe suddith.and i herd a 6'8 pitcher at cox is going to richmond.

His name is Cody Winslow. Richmond has had some interest in him but not sure how much. I know he hasn't signed with them. Cox also has another transfer Greg Amorosso LHP,OF,1B. He should be Cox's #1 pitcher and be one of the top 4 pitchers in the Beach district. He will also help them with his bat, he probobly be batting in the middle of their line-up.

You sure do know a lot about High School baseball. If I remember the FC & Kellam games last year were pretty good games. I think Kellam won the first game and should have won the second. Don't count out the PA team this year.

kllam has a top 15 prospect in kellam at jason taylor.

congrats to kellam they are going to have a really good team this year but you guys really think kempsville we finish that low in the beach???

Sorry strike zone. The way I see it is Kempsville will have trouble scoring runs and when Ramirez pitches they will need to field the ball. Last year they booted the ball around and had trouble scoring runs and I see no reason to think that will change this year. I hope I'm wrong because coach Shows works very hard with his team and doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Can any of you beach fans put these teams in perspective for a NVA guy? I saw the Tidewater Devil rays play many games this fall. I thought they were one of the best teams I'd seen. Especially the pitching. I realize not all the kids on that team were from the beach but - which kids were and what was their position and High School?

I know Jason Taylor played some for them but the other names and the schools they attend -- I have no idea.

Jake MacAloose (ODU) (3B,SS) played for the D' Rays and was on the PA state title team and Lynnhaven Palomino teams.

I see you've named 4 kellam players so i can see why they are favored. i didn't know last year was supposed to be a bad year for the area
though I was surprised when a local team in my area with predominantly sophomores almost beat them for the title.

My son played ina showcase this year with Nick Pisula, I had a brief conversation with him and at that time he sounded not that highly recruited despite good grades -- I was very surprised. He is fast has a strong arm and I think must hit OK though that didn't stand out in the showcase.

thats the truth kempsville will have to swing the pole this year and catch the ball and they have a really good staff this year so if they do the little things they should be strong

It was probably Cody Winslow...6'7" or 6'8" I believe.

you are correct. Hirsch was a Devil Ray, but he is in the Southeastern District. There were a couple of other Southeastern players, but I do not know who they are.
