Not about the program itself but our HS has sent players there (a pitcher and a catcher). Midwest (OH) selective academically; NCSA lists the, as a "competitive" DIII.  I believe school has < 2000 students. I see they roster 37 players currently. The roster also indicates they recruit outside the Midwest. Check the majors that are offered there and see if it pairs with your son's interests. Good luck

I know a player there, and he is a good friend of my son. My son also plays in the same conference, the NCAC.

He does not play them every year because the conference is split east/west.

I can tell you the coach can gets players into good summer leagues, the Prospect and the PGCBL. Son's friend was sent to both.

Generally the team recruits a big class every four years and tries to develop the team well enough so they compete in the East division for the top spot. Then the starts the process all over. So instead of a consistently good team, they are good in the conference for a year or two then fall back to the bottom with a young team.

I do not know much about Coach Burdette. He did recruit my son, but my son was not interested the school.

Burdette recruits kids from all over the country, because the academic requirements.

My 2016 has iterated with the Coach and he seems like a good guy.  Kenyon is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country and highly selective as others have noted.

The only thing I'll add is that the campus, while large and very nice, is in a rural area.  We visited recently and my 2016 struggled to envision himself there.  Mt. Vernon, a few miles away, has some of the "comforts" of home.

BLD can comment much better than I on schools in the midwest (I wish we visited OWU!).  But my son preferred Case Western and Wooster and even Denison to Kenyon based upon the campuses and the locale.

Thanks,I figured you might have some insight being in your neck of the woods

My son has gotten into two Ohio schools -- Ohio Wesleyan and Marietta -- and is waiting to hear from a third -- Mt Union.   Lots of good schools in Ohio.  Marietta in particular is an awesome baseball environment (though in the middle of nowhere.)   We're thinking of heading out for a spring trip, so he can decide if which of the schools he really prefers.

(Personally, though, I'm hoping he states on the West Coast.  But the kid is willing to go anywhere in the country to achieve the right fit of baseball and academics. Has been aimed at top tier D3 schools since injuries and what not took him off the radar of the few D1 schools that showed interest.)
