Let's try to have a little survey, without the bickering. My opinion, FWIW, is below. I think it's pretty clear, but for those constantly in need of clarification let me know and I'll see if I can help you. Quite simply today's pitchers (and position players) don't throw enough. Notice I said THROW, not pitch. You don't see kids throwing or playing catch anymore unless it's a structured practice or game situation. It's not really their fault. They get in trouble for throwing rocks, and just playing catch with a buddy (or a dad) is boring compared to a play station or an electronic whatever. So is throwing a tennis ball against a garage door, or a whiffle ball in the back yard. The bottom line is that although athletes are bigger, faster and stronger than ever, they just don't PLAY enough or THROW enough to develop baseball skills.
