Army's been sitting on side of road trying to find a place to play...both the VA sites have now bailed because of field conditions...I believe they are now headed to Cary, NC to play the games.

I recognize many of the players up for the award, they are all outstanding people in addition to being good players. Something about the name "ARMY" that sticks out, though.

DaddyBo, think back to when you brought that little baby boy home from the hospital. And look at him, now. Probably blows your mind, a little.

Gradutating from West Point is an unbelievable accomplishment.

I think of Thomas L. "Stonewall" Jackson who was not the most gifted of students. What he was, however, was the most determined and perhaps that is what we stand for here at the hsbbweb.

Jackson routinely studied his course materials by firelight until the wee hours of the morning. Many say that the South was broken when Jackson, Lee's right-hand man, was killed by friendly fire. Whatever the circumstance, it gives you goosebumps to think about the legacy that has been established at West Point.

That is something to be VERY proud of. And his 3.73 career GPA is probably a more difficult task than a .373 career BA!

Thanks, gang...Antz, been doing a lot of reflectin these last few months. It has been a wild ride of surpassing expectations...tee ball, travel ball, high school, recruiting, college, and now less than 100 days to commissioning. It is a tremendous feeling when the realization occurs, instead of continuing to inspire your kids to think on and achieve good things, that they have become an inspiration for you.
I like to think that my biggest accomplishment is that I did not do anything to screw it up.

I've known Zach since he first arrived on Doubleday Field at West Point.

The one thing I can say that sums up his time there, is that among a school of leaders, Zach has always lead from the front, enjoying the respect, admiration, and friendship of all his teammates. He is universally regarded on that team as a great guy, exceptionally hard worker, and great teammate. Rooting for him has always been easy.

DAddybo, congrats on ZAch, quite an acchievement. Thank you for sharing the list as well. One of my older son's HS teammate and good friend from Wright State was also on the list. I wasn't aware of it and just got to send a text to both Jake and his Dad on the accomplisment. Again, congrats for rasining such a fine young man

Lowe's "nomination committee" selects original list (30)...
a "national media committee narrows field to 10 about 2 months prior to world series.
