Kurt is a home town boy. I never thought what he has accomplished was possible. I was actually his baseball coach at one time. What a great kid he was! I tried to talk his dad into getting Kurt to concentrate on baseball. Thought he had a better future in baseball. How wrong can a person be?

Hall of fame - No doubt! Wow! Amazing!

PG...what position did he play in baseball? With that arm and accuracy with a football, seems like he could have been a pretty good pitcher.
Kurt is definitely one of the best.Just lucky to watch his story unfold in our era. Very humble and religious man. Perfect example of someone who never gave up despite all the bumps in the road and found a way to rise from all that. He will always be a HOF'er in my eyes. Good guys can still finish 1st.

Regarding baseball, I think 3b (quick release)/RHP (heat). Not sure about his mobility when he was younger. MR.PG will chime in.

He did pitch a little, I think, for his high school team (CR Regis). I mostly remember him playing SS in HS. We played him mostly in RF on our Legion team. Yes, good arm, but we had better arms on that team. Some might say his best sport in HS was basketball. I thought he had a future in baseball. Obviously he thought differently, but didn't become the starting QB at U of Northern Iowa until his senior year. Might even have been 5th year senior, if I remember correctly.

He has many friends and former team mates here and I think he will move back.
