College baseball coach. I don't think there would be any better feeling than getting a kid at the age of 18 and molding and shaping him into a man by 22. The gratification is very rarely outspoken from players, but I would love to be able to make a decent living helping kids play the game they love and helping to make them a better person for it.

You'd be drinking for two tres! The short case of Miller Highlife® in our downstair's fridge is older than most bottles of wine in other folks' homes.

Tell you what...if I'm ever out in the Emerald City I'll look you up. You can have my microbrew...I get your Beer Nuts©. Deal?

I think with seven or eight bags of Beer Nuts© in me I could even understand this well enough to know which of the three trees those nuts grow on.

Jimmy03: If you really are a teacher with great students who are eager to learn..., you must be one h*ll of a teacher.

If the world revolved around me, you would be rewarded financially for the true value you add to our nation, which is at least equivalent to the compensation of a weak hitting shortstop in MLB with a couple of years of experience.

My mother taught HS science for 40+ years and I have a soft spot for the influence, empowerment and motivation a good teacher can provide.

The US is in a difficult place right now. It'll take a motivated & skillful generation to pull us out of it and return us to the great nation we were/are.
Jimmy, Godspeed to you. There is a special place in heaven for teachers.

I really wish I could win the lottery so I could come back as a HS teacher. I'm an engineer, turned program mananger. My mom taught HS science for 40 years, so I have a soft spot for teachers. It's a calling and I'm glad you were called.
Everyday I get to do my dream job. I am a teacher and coach. I can't tell you how much I love my job. I wake up every Monday through Friday and can't wait to get to school. I've been blessed with the young students I've been able to work with. I've taught artists, professional sports athletes, etc. and perhaps the most inspirational are the young men and women who serve our great country. I had a young man come in Friday on his short time home from Afganistan to tell me about his last mission before coming home. I was in awe and it was a mission many of you read about. I'll leave it at that. I've also been blessed to teach my favorite student, my daughter. Recently, I was told that I had not put in my notice that I was within 10 years of retirment and that I was overdue by a couple of years. I told my administrator that I hadn't forgotten. They are going to have to throw me out the door!
