A bit late to ask but anybody else got a team playing in a Labor Day Weekend tournament?

Our kids are playing in a last chance tournament so they're playing at 48/70 for the last time.

We haven't played any of the teams in our pool before but it looks like we should match up OK. Pitching could become an issue as we've only got 5 pitchers and 2 of them won't be available on Sunday. Most of them haven't thrown much lately so control could be a real issue. It could be worse, I noticed that one of the teams could end up playing a triple header on Monday. Hope we play them in the finals!

We ended up 3-0 in pool play despite having to go 8 innings to beat one of the weaker teams 1-0. We won our semifinal game pretty easily and then lost the final 6-1. My son gave up a leadoff triple just over the bag at 3rd to a lefty who scored on a 1 out grounder to short. In the third inning he lost his command and gave up a couple walks and a hit batter. One ground ball single then resulted in a pair of runs and another run scored on a ground out. He then shut down the top of the order in the 4th inning. I don't believe he allowed a ball in the air that got out of the infield but he wasn't getting ahead in the count all game and paid the price. We brought in our little curve baller to try and hold them in the last inning and he was squeezed a bit by the ump and gave up a couple runs. Neither of our pitchers had any problems with the top of their order. It was the kids who weren't up there to swing that gave them problems since the umpire had a fairly tight strike zone. Their pitcher threw more strikes and our hitters wouldn't lay off the high pitch.

We were in one of the cooler areas in the county and saw temperatures reaching 100 at times.
