Lacrosse Elbow guard for hitting

I found a lacrosse elbow guard that I was gonna use for batting since it protects more of the arm. Would it be wrong to wear it on the baseball field?

NCAA has specific requirements on the elbow guard (I'm too lazy to look them up, and I don't know what a lacrosse guard looks like, so I couldn't evaluate it anyway).

In HS, you can probably wear it.

When I played in the late 90s I wore a hockey elbow pad on my left arm after I injured that elbow during the football season. I didn't have any issues wearing it.
