i've been landing kind of hard during the delivery for awhile and listening to some others, i've heard that landing soft will direct the energy to fingertips instead to the ground, therefore generating more power. is it true? if it is, how can i land soft?

First you want to land with a flexed leg. It it is stiff then that is the first problem. Try to land with flexed leg and with a flat foot with just a little bit on the front cleats. Think about driving your front knee toward the pitcher and just let the landing happen without focusing on it. I am not sure if this comes across right on the internet but give this a try. Focus on a "soft landing" during your bull pen. Forget about where the ball is going because when you are working on mechanical issues you have to focus on them, not pitch location.

Good Luck!
