Off season work outs and indoor preparation are almost over. Monday is the 1st practice under state rules. This will start our son's the last high school season.

It is one of the days both of us always looked forward to. With this year being his last it already has a different feel. No longer are the thoughts about making the team or what position or role. He has gone from being a kid to well on his way to being a man.

The end of high school will mark a point when a lot of life changes will happen soon. I want to sit back and enjoy every last little bit before we move onto the next level as he prepares to head off to college and what ever road that takes us down.

As I look back, it all seems like yesterday when he was 5 years old with his glove on his head picking up dirt and throwing it at his best friend. I guess this was his first long toss program. It is this very journey that teaches us about life and molds us. This game called baseball has been the common thread in the process. Don’t only focus on the accomplishments or the goals; enjoy the process and all that it offers! walk

Homebuilder,
Nice words. We too have a Senior and will again next year. It seems so odd that they got there so fast!
I wish you luck with all that your son chooses in life. Good luck for College also.

Is your Son going to play College ball? Our oldest has decided not to. For us it is the end of watching him on the ballfield and seeing what else he has in store for us. LOL.
This will be a really odd season of emotions. Elder son is a senior, practice starts Monday but the basketball team won again and will head to the state semi-finals. He'll miss his Fl trip but doesn't seem bothered. he says, I got mine, let me help the others.
The flip side is youngest son is a freshman and will most likely be the varsity starting SS. The start to the new era. It's going to be a fun time getting to watch both play..
