It is one of the days both of us always looked forward to. With this year being his last it already has a different feel. No longer are the thoughts about making the team or what position or role. He has gone from being a kid to well on his way to being a man.
The end of high school will mark a point when a lot of life changes will happen soon. I want to sit back and enjoy every last little bit before we move onto the next level as he prepares to head off to college and what ever road that takes us down.
As I look back, it all seems like yesterday when he was 5 years old with his glove on his head picking up dirt and throwing it at his best friend. I guess this was his first long toss program. It is this very journey that teaches us about life and molds us. This game called baseball has been the common thread in the process. Don’t only focus on the accomplishments or the goals; enjoy the process and all that it offers!
