Great evidence of what many of us have said on here from time-to-time. If you're playing draft-level baseball in college, you'll be scouted; regardless of the division.

Much better to concentrate upon finding the right combination of baseball level and academic/social environment than going through the recruiting process with the mindset that DI is the only place to be.

Folks,

We did make the visit to Lee this weekend.  Very beautiful campus for those considering.  Much bigger campus than expected for 5000 students.  Very nice baseball field that could be seeing a nice upgrade in next year or so.....stadium seating, etc.  Already, has nice player locker room built in behind home dugout.

5 players drafted last year (4 pitchers)....with another 4 signing professional contracts.  4 players drafted the year before.  Very high level program making the transition from NAIA to D2.....Gulf South Conference.

Very impressed.....now son has a decision to make.

Lee, and most of the other small private schools like it in Tennessee and the South in general, have some sort of religious affiliation.  It is very common for chapel attendance to be required, as well as 2 or 3 religion classes.  They make no amends for being who they are and what they represent.  It is part of the deal, which has to be accepted to attend there.  My son had a Jewish teammate at a similar school in Tennessee, and he really didn't care for chapel, but he was there.

True. My niece goes to Christian school. She does have relig course requirement but they do not Require kids to attend services. It is there if they choose. Curious as to how many academic kids return soph yr or what grad rate is.  Kids on good sports teams will put up w a lot for that opport.  I'm checking their website now to look at some numbers. No disputing their baseball success.
