While the leg kick has become more and more popular I always catch myself looking for an answer on the web. Does a leg kick necessarily add more velocity to your exit velo?

Not sure on the leg kick ratcheting up more exit velo but my son uses it as a rhythm and timing mechanism.
The only reason...that I am aware of...for an increase in velocity from leg kick is due to improved timing. My son's pitching velocity improved 2-3 mph, better command, and less fatigue/soreness from adding a slight leg kick.
Leg kick....I'm with Shu on that one as well.......seems now all the rage.....the "Scissor"! Whatever work for you!
I was watching MLB TV last night as they strolled through the 20's with Babe Ruth. The Babe looked to be doing the "Happy Gilmore" with the step into the stride, well before Adam Sandler and every other hitting coach/instructor made it popular!
