I have Legion schedules and will forward them to those interested. Go to www.Post113Baseball.com and they'll either be there for download or email the GM (me) and I'll forward you copies.

There are some very strong Legion teams in Richmond one of which made a great run in the American Legion World Series last year. We also have some very good Legion squads in this area (Tidewater) as well.

American Legion baseball in tidewater, and most other places, is on the rise again as people start to figure out that their kid can get 25 or more good quality well scouted games for under $100 in most cases. We expect to play 25-30 games this season including two tournaments and charge less than $100. That includes uniforms. We have had 4 practices and I've had different college coaches at two of them already.
I'd like to second Coach Wilson's comments on American Legion baseball. Post 113 has long fielded quality teams as has Norfolk Post 60 and Chesapeake Post 280 in recent years - just to name a few among many. The Penninsula also has a strong Legion league. Plus, several new teams have formed in the D2 Tidewater District including teams with players from quality baseball programs such as First Colonial, Princess Anne, Great Bridge and Hickory. Legion baseball is indeed on the rise.

Quality baseball taught by excellent coaches at a very reasonable cost.
www.scorebook.com/dvalb is the "centralized" location for every team to post their schedules and rosters.

It's up to each team mgr and or stat keeper to post this information and it's FREE to use.

I have a college distribution list nearing 100+ contacts and they are aware of this site.

If your respective team's schedule is not in the system, then please contact your Head Coach.

Bill Gilmore is the contact for District 11. In the past, the Richmond District did not start until mid-late June, BUT with the State moved up a week earlier, one would assume they would start eariler?

Without a minor league team this year, a guy has to find any baseball he can!

hahaha..no, I mean for a HS kid. Hasn't Legion gone waaaay down hill?

For some areas of the the state, Legion has the BEST deal going on the market which is FREE to play and other areas its no more than $200 for the entire summer.

This website, www.scorebook.com/dvalb has made it much, much easier for the college coaches to follow the teams in VA and follow individual players of interests to them.

I should clarify that many area high school teams use the Junior Legion program (17U) for their JV players. Hickory, as noted by Redbird, only fields a Junior team no Senior team. The Senior teams (19u) contain not only varsity players but some freshman college players as well.

A couple of the tidewater teams are free to play as noted by Coach Milburn but most charge a small fee. Regardless, It would be very difficult to find a better summer baseball value than ALB.

Do you have an email address for Mr. Gilmore?
