Les Miller

It's a shame he won't be around to see the upgrades completed to Les Miller Field. I never knew the man but from the word of the "old timers" at UIC games, and the way way his name is honored by the UIC Athletic Dept he sounded like a very special man. Condolences to his family.

I remember Les from the days that we played the old Navy Pier UIC teams at Lincoln Park.

Good man.

For those who may be interested, there is a very a nice obituary in today's Chicago Tribune about the life of Les Miller. It sounds like he was a great person who made great contributions to baseball and many peoples lives. I am sure that he will be greatly missed by those who knew him and the baseball community. My prayers go out to his family.
