I would not rely solely on the schools recruiting web pages, I have seen some UC sites that let you know if they checked them and some were not checked for a couple of years, spend the time to do it right and personalize the letters. If you send the letters out early enough with the player information, there is a chance you may not even receive the questionnaire.

Even with these, you should personalize as much as possible.

True, but how will certain schools know you're interested in them if you never contact them?? My son committed to a school 5 hours away that recruits heavily from its own metropolitan area. They never would have seen my son play if he had not contacted them first.
